2018-2019 President's Message

Welcome to SE-IAATI and our website,

My name is Nathan McGanty and I would like to thank the members of the Southeast Regional Chapter – International Association of Auto Theft Investigators for the opportunity to serve as the newly elected President for the 2018/2019 term.

During my 15 years in law enforcement, I have seen many changes involving Auto Theft but the one thing that has stayed the same is the importance of the investigator and their expertise.  Even with the many changes in technology, Auto Theft still remains the starting point for many crimes and it is up to us to lead the way.

We must continue to learn and advance as technology does.  We need to stay one step ahead and start thinking the term “Vehicle Crimes”.  We should not limit ourselves to just Auto Theft but realize there is a much bigger picture and not be left behind.  Change is going to happen and we can either get left behind and become irrelevant or we can embrace it and become the future.  Use SERC-IAATI as the tool it is meant to be and allow us to assist each of you and keeping you up to date with the latest trends and maintaining those all-important contacts.  We want to provide you training and the tools for the detection and prevention of auto theft and other vehicle crimes.

I challenge all our members to take ownership in this Organization.  Year after year we ask people to get involved and this still remains important today.  Do not make this a once a year event but keep going all year long.  So get involved by teaching a class, bringing in new members, and joining the board.

In closing, I will continue to make myself, Executive Board, Directors, and State Delegates available to all our members.  Please do not hesitate to contact us for any reason or assistance.  Please keep an eye out on the website on information for the next conference and I hope to see all of you again next year in Lexington, Kentucky.

Stay Safe,

Nathan McGanty
